Star Wars – Rogue One
Director: Gareth Edwards
Cast: Felicity Jones, Diego Luna
Genre: Science Fiction
On our second snow day of the week, Dec. 16, the newest Star Wars movie came out and had fans raging. To sum Star Wars up in a few words, I would say these characters are just trying to survive in a galaxy far, far, away. With this being my first Star Wars film, I guess you could say I was a little confused.
From my perspective, this is how the movie went:
This family stays hidden away from this very powerful group of people and once they are found, the little girl has to be on her own with the help of a mentor her parents left for her. The mother is killed and the father is taken away to help build this weapon that can destroy a whole planet. The girl gets in contact with this alliance who goes and tries to steal the plans for this weapon so it can be destroyed. The little girl reunited with the man who raised her and receives a message from her father that said that he created a little glitch in the system so it could be destroyed. The girl proposes an idea to the alliance to go in and try to take the plans. They refuse because the whole council has to be on board.
They go anyway, but the rest is up to you. I am not going to spoil anything else. It’s up to you to see it.
From what little I know about the Star Wars, I liked it. I liked how real it looked. The dialog made it easy to follow, and the new droid K-2SO gave great comedic relief. The other aliens were so real that at times it was bordering on gross.
My grade: thumbs up
