The website was launched on Sept. 8, 2015, as the online news product of the journalism program at Inland Lakes High School in Indian River, Michigan. is a student-run, student-governed news organization. Our mission is to inform the Indian River community on current events as we practice professional journalism standards of excellence. We believe in covering as many events as possible as breaking news as a service to the community.

With 398 students in grades 6-12, we are a tiny public school for such an extensive news website. Inland Lakes fields 28 interscholastic athletic teams while hosting 5 clubs.

IL360 is a member of the Michigan Interscholastic Press Association, the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, and the National Scholastic Press Association. The journalism program maintains a Twitter, a Snapchat, an Instagram account, and a Facebook feed.

The website is managed using WordPress using a staff-modified MH Magazine theme on GoDaddy servers.

Funding provided by Inland Lakes Images.
